If It Was Easy, Everyone Would Be Doing It

Tomorrow we kick-off a new training program that I am more excited about than any other class or training I’ve done. Project | U is going to be a game changer. Yeah, sure, I think we’ve got great content, awesome guest speakers, and a packed year-long curriculum complete with a monthly book club, a fitness coach, nutrition consults, financial advisers, relationship psychologists, martial arts experts, and more. But what I think makes this event so much sweeter is the people who have committed to going on this journey with me, with Adam Hergenrother Training, and with each other.

It’s a big commitment – financially, emotional, and physically. It’s not easy to be away from your family for days at a time. It’s not easy to invest money into your own education and growth. It’s not easy to get vulnerable and allow the good, the bad, and the ugly of your life come out. It’s not easy to stop and take time to learn, train, and grow. But that’s just it, isn’t it? If it were easy, everyone would do it and everyone would be successful, hitting their goals, and living the exact life that they wanted. How many people do you know that are doing that? Exactly. What this group of individuals is about to experience through Project | U is not going to be easy, but I guarantee it will transform their business and their life.

In fact, we know this to be true about all training and continuing education, don’t we? Sure, not every single book you read or training event you attend is going to blow your mind. But I bet you get a tip or trick here and there, or you make a great new connection with someone else in the room, or you get a book recommendation that puts you on a new path in your life.

Your growth (physically, mentally, emotionally, financially, spiritually) is entirely up to you. No one else is going to grow you. You just have to engineer your life to grow yourself – and that requires doing the hard things I mentioned above.

About 13 years ago, I borrowed $8,000 to start my career in real estate. Within 30 days of making a leap into the real estate industry, I took $4,000 of that money and flew to a Howard Briton conference. From the outside, it looks like a rookie move. I could have used that money for marketing, paid for more online leads, bought office equipment and furniture, or hired a part-time assistant for a few months. Those were immediate needs, right? Taking a week out of the business, during my first month of the business was crazy, right? I should’t have wasted money on myself, right?

Well… depends on how you look at it. There are always going to be a million things to do that seem more important then training. As a leader, a husband, a father, a friend, there are endless requests for your time and energy. There is never a great time to take time away from your family and your business to train. But you can’t afford not to.

Training, whether it’s auditing a college course, getting your yoga instructor certification, or going all-in on a full-immersion training program like Project | U, should be part of your growth plan. It’s how you get intentional and start purposefully growing daily, weekly, and monthly, which leads to year over year growth, which leads to geometric transformation. Those few days away a couple times a year to grow your leadership, to grow your knowledge, to grow yourself as a person, will pay off in dividends.

Who you surround yourself with makes a difference! Look around. You are the average (fitness level, knowledge, income & debt, volunteer work, etc.) of the 5 people you spend the most time with. Do you have the right 5 in your life? Sometimes, it takes getting on a plane to meet and be around people who are playing at the same level as you. Going to an event (like Date with Destiny or Project | U) or a new class (like CrossFit) gets you outside your comfort zone and raises your level of consciousness about what is out there in the world and what you’re capable of.

Are you living your maximum potential? Do you have more to give? Are you taking the time to stop and attend training to improve yourself, your relationships, your business, and your life? The Project | U class of 2019 is taking the time to invest into themselves. I can’t wait to share with you what they accomplish over the next 12 months!

What is the next training event or class you have scheduled?
